Tree Nursery -Land Found!
Update January 2017
Thank you to everyone who has offered land and assistance . A suitable site has now been found and a sowing and planting program for 2017 is now being planned.
Project
Our tree nursery is now under development and we are looking for land to rent in North Cumbria to begin larger scale field production.
This must be a sandy loam type that is found through the northern parts of the Eden valley and around parts of Carlisle and Brampton and be fairly level or slightly sloping and must not suffer from water logging at any time of year.
An initial area of 2-5 acres is sought for seedbeds for sowing in the Spring of 2017 with larger areas needed for transplant production in subsequent years. Fields must be easily accessible and preferably with a water source.
Additional farm revenues may also be made from use of farm buildings for grading operations and contract work from various field operations.
Please contact me at michael@treeseedonline.com if you feel that you would like an initial discussion -thank you
